What makes our game replayable

Primarily open world and puzzle-based, Screwed relies on having a variety of interesting mechanics and puzzles to keep the player engaged. Starting off with the most important facet of our game, our puzzles! Because our game is mostly open world, we designed a wide variety of puzzles for a wide variety of solutions, as well as replayability.
The big goal of the game is to find all of the pieces of the toy plane and put them together; this allows the screw to control the plane and escape the confines of the house they were trapped in. However, finding those pieces is where the puzzle-solving comes in! There’s no specific order the player has to find the pieces in or a specific way they must find them which is where the fun and replayability comes in! You might come across an area that’s difficult to cross, find an object to help you get across, or move more easily! Or you might have to find obstacles to move out of your path, or get up to a high place, you can go about it however you see fit, as long as you can build that toy plane and fly your way to freedom!
The next mechanic of our game that is extremely important is our player movement and interaction. Giving the player more freedom in how they move and how they interact with the environment brings even more replayability into the game. The player can mover vertically or horizontally which brings different ways to navigate the world as well as giving the player the ability to fling themselves across the world a certain distance, allowing them to access areas they wouldn’t otherwise be able to. Last but certainly not least, is the staple mechanic of our game, screwing into different objects to make them become an extension of yourself. This is the player’s main way to navigating the world and solving puzzles, and we’ve given the player a wide variety of objects to play around with! From cans to apples to forks, there’s plenty of objects and the player’s disposal!
